The Second Grade year is filled with wonderful sacramental experiences for your child. We will be extending your child’s faith journey through preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The students will prepare in the classroom, during sacramental retreats and through weekly mass reflections.

Within the classroom setting, we will provide an integrated curriculum. The students will receive instruction in the following areas: religion, balanced literacy, math, science and social studies. Our goal is to integrate technology and media while promoting a growth mindset in all of the students.

Second Graders will learn how to use a growth mindset in all areas of learning, including their emotional and social development. Students will learn about the power of “yet”, as well as how to use “I can” statements.

A Second Grade highlight is the Annual Biography Fair. Students develop their research, reading, writing, technology and art skills while learning about an important individual in history. This day provides lifelong memories for the students! The students also deepen their faith through the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Another treasured highlight is Grinch Day celebrated in the month of December.
