Mission Day – on April 30th is for Habitat for Humanity. Seeking to put God’s love into action, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity (GDM Habitat) brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. GDM Habitat is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every person should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. They are about building with people in need regardless of race or religion. They welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
Home & School Scholarship – Each year Home and School offers two $500 scholarships to 8th grade students who intend to move on to Dowling High School. To be considered for this scholarship, students must complete the attached application and email it back to Mr. Aldrich at email@example.com. Students may make a copy of the application in google docs and share when done to Mr. Aldrich this year. The deadline for the application is noon on May 3rd, 2021. High School Senior Come Home Mass will be Wednesday, May 26 at 8:45 a.m for any high school senior who attended St. Francis School. Please meet in the gathering space to pick up your letters and line up at about 8:30 a.m. Seniors and their parents are invited to join us. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, other guests will not be permitted. Masks are required for those attending. The Mass will be livestreamed for all. School Supplies Pre-ordered, individual school supplies for the 2021-2022 school year are available for purchase! Please go to https://www.educationalproducts.com/ShopPacks/ and enter our school code STF024. You will see supply packs for each grade with pricing. Select the grade you need for next year and follow instructions for purchasing. Reminder: Be sure to order supplies for the grade your student will be in 2021-2022 school year!!!!
An email confirmation will be sent with every order as a receipt. Please be aware that if you did NOT receive an email confirmation, your order was not placed. Please note your email confirmation. If interested in using this service, please place your order as soon as possible. The ordering deadline is June 1st. No extra orders are placed. Pre-ordering school supplies is being offered for the convenience of St. Francis parents. It is not a fundraiser for the school. All teachers create the list of school supplies needed for the next school year. If you decide not to use this service, the school supply list will be available on the SFA website in the next week or two. All boxes will be delivered to St. Francis andfound in your student’s classroom (or close to the classroom) on Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop Off Day which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 2021.These boxes will be individually labeled for each student. SFA parish news – Small group leaders needed! St Francis parish is hosting a 33-Day Consecration to St. Joseph, June 7-July 10, 2021. We would love to organize several small groups to help our parish family dig deeper into the study as well as build community.
