Carline – Parents, please do not begin carline line-up until 3:00 pm. We have recess, outdoor activities, and church staff needing to utilize the parking lot until that time. Thank you for waiting until 3:00 pm to begin lining up. We are having issues with 72nd Street being blocked, so we are asking the 6th, 7th and 8th grade car line to be a double line until the first 4 cars.
National Day of Prayer & Fasting is Thursday, September 24, join a group of SFA parents for a walking Rosary. Meet at 8:30am by Mary’s Statue (north side church doors). We pray for all intentions, but most of all for God’s mercy on our land and the healing and conversion of our hearts.
Fr. Ray and Fr. Mark also invite you to join to pray for our country, God’s mercy, and the healing of our hearts. Many of the events will be livestreamed on our Facebook page throughout the day, but people are welcome to come to the church to pray in person while observing social distancing guidelines. Together in Faith – This year, St. Francis of Assisi is inviting our entire parish community to join Together in Faith. Every single household is welcome to participate! Together as a as household, together as your family, together with your parish community of St. Francis, we will grow in our faith together this year.
You are probably thinking, how does this work?
Each month will have a central theme that will be carried throughout all the activities and resources for that month.
There will 3 live virtual events including one for the whole household, one for adults, and another to worship together each month with a different type of prayer.
Over the course of the month, each family is asked to complete 2-3 activities together as a household. These will be available for different ages including infant/toddler, preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and adult. Your household decides which activities you want to do together.
Other components include service learning, meet a Saint each month, music, and ways to live your faith.
There will be weekly gospel reflections available for each weekend in an adult, teen, and child level to prepare and reflect on that weekend’s readings.
Peer connections are really important for our youth, so there will be weekly virtual small groups for our junior high and high school youth in addition to virtual social nights held twice a month.
Together in Faith is really a menu of options, so each month your household decides which activities and resources they will use together to learn and grow in their faith.
